SPACE is OBSOLETE is a Philadelphia-based design studio specializing in residential and commercial interiors, architecture, and spatial experiences. Our work is rooted in atmosphere, material sensitivity, and thoughtful restraint — creating bespoke environments that feel both refined and deeply lived in.
The name SPACE is OBSOLETE reflects an ongoing exploration of how we inhabit the physical world within an increasingly digital culture — questioning the evolving relationship between space, perception, ritual, and contemporary life.
JENNIFER HOFER JEFFREY is the Founding Principal of SiO. Formally trained as an architect, her multidisciplinary approach is shaped by professional experience spanning architecture, interiors, photography, and the fine arts. Her work is informed by a sensitivity to atmosphere, visual storytelling, and the emotional experience of space.
Jennifer earned her professional degree in Architecture from The City College of New York and her Master’s degree from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. She currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Practice at Drexel University’s School of Architecture.

- SVEN SCHROETER AIA, is an architect with over 25 years’ experience in the planning and design of single- and multi-family residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. He brings both a broad perspective and thoughtful attention to detail to all projects, informed by his diverse interests in urbanism, culture, technology and the arts.

FEES
We typically work on full residential renovations and architectural projects with construction budgets beginning around $250,000.
Design fees vary depending on project scope, scale, complexity, and level of service, and are typically structured as a percentage of the overall construction cost.
